about JONNY

Hi, I'm Jonny, and I have been a student of health, movement, and how to perform better in life for most of my adult life. Much of my younger self was busy in school or books, not movement, and as I matured, I realized how important that should be.

In my mid-20s, I went deep into the rabbit hole of all things strength and conditioning and, eventually, Olympic Weightlifting. I sought out formal training in all of those areas so that I could teach others, and I was able to learn from some incredible coaches over the years. I have been able to teach in these areas at multiple Chico gyms.

I discovered Pilates in 2021 as a personal movement practice and found it highly synergistic with my current training style. I found that I could physically and mentally do more almost two decades after I started my movement journey, which spurred me to seek formal training in Pilates to share and teach. I am currently working toward my Comprehensive Instructor Training from Balanced Body.

What I love most about the health and fitness industry is seeing positive results from those around me. This has influenced my teaching style, which focuses on progressing people toward their goals in a sustainable but challenging way, with motivation and accountability.
