about AMANDA
Amanda began her pursuit of yoga while studying theater at Southern Methodist University, taking Yoga 101 and Eastern Philosophy elective courses. After graduating from SMU with a
Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA), Amanda completed her first Yoga Teacher Training, a 500 Hour course at Sunstone Fit in Addison, TX.
Her passion for learning and growth has led her to attend multiple yoga teacher training courses over the past thirteen years, studying Ashtanga, Iyengar, Kundalini, Prenatal, Restorative, and Yoga Nidra, while also having honor of studying with renowned teachers such as Judith Hanson Lasater and David Swenson.
Currently, Amanda holds the Yoga Alliance designations of Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT 500®), Registered Prenatal Yoga Teacher, Continuing Education Provider and
Thought Leader.
In 2014, she founded Spira Yoga School (RYS 200®) where she has offered eight yoga teacher training courses and many continuing education courses. In addition to teaching classes, workshops and courses, Amanda also guides small group retreats and is available for private lessons.
In recent years, she began another pursuit and is now awaiting to begin her Doctor of Physical Therapy program at Baylor University in 2024. Her passion for the human body and
movement are palpable in her teaching today. Whether you are new to your yoga practice or have been practicing for years, with over 5,000 hours of diverse teaching experience, Amanda will challenge you to find your edge, lovingly assist your alignment, and encourage you to create a breath-body connection.
